I am lost in a world

with slowly fading colors

the brilliant shades

of red, orange, yellow, green, purple, and blue..

have turned to pale

un happy blank colors

happy people

are losing all their hope

turning from the truth

to whatever will make them

feel ok for atleast a day

i find myself crying

wishing i could just leave

why would anyone want to be

in a place full of misery

i have feelings

feelings i will never be able to explain

feelings that overpower

all that i have left in me

is it love

is it lust

is it something

is it nothing

is it everything

is it anything

i am

unable to feel.

unable to hope.

unable to be myself.

unable to pry off these masks,

threatening to take me forever.

but then i see...

the beauty still there...

the sun that still rises...

day after day...

the lake that still sparkles under the sun

the flower that still blooms

the stars that shine bright through the night

all signs that i'm still alive

i'm here for a reason

to be who you made me

so give me the strength

to conquer my fears,

realize my emotions,

love those around me,

and show those whose hope is faltering..

maybe for good..

that you will bring..
