"Stand Proud" Poem :)

Description:
I wrote this poem about a year ago, and there are MANY others I'll probably put up later. I like to see what other people think of my art and poetry. I've even submitted a couple of my works to our school literary magazine, called Inkwell...But anyway...What do you think? :)
Stand Proud
(c) Patricia Kelly 2006
Fear is just a word
People use to pull you down
But you can't let them sink you
You can't sit around and frown
You've gotta make something of your life
Show them how it's done
And we'll see who's laughing now
Cause you're stronger than you know
Don't walk staring at the ground
Hold your head high
Your dreams can't be anchored down
Take them to the sky
Dream small, lose it all
Never stop to cry
Don't walk staring at the ground
Keep on aiming high
You'll never be a winner
If you're always set to lose
So live it up and do your best
On every path you choose
And if anybody tells you
That you're nothing, it's a lie!
They're probably just jealous
That you always wear a smile
So, don't walk staring at the ground
Hold your head high
Your dreams can't be anchored down
Take them to the sky
Dream small, lose it all
Never stop to cry
Don't walk staring at the ground
Keep on aiming high
...Whatcha think everybody? :)

PLEASE HELP!!!!
- From: Conflict
-
Description:Hello family in Christ! I am a Rapper/Youth Evangelist from Sacramento, California. I go by "Conflict". My wife and I travel throughout the country ministering to young people through music, short videos, and our clothing companies. We are tired of seeing so many young people victimized by what this culture is pushing on them, through the lies of the media and internet world. Our heart is to further the Gospel and reach our lost generation.
I am looking everywhere for places to perform and minister. Do you know of any venues in your local area that you could connect me to? Maybe your youth group? Maybe your local high school? If you do, please contact me through the information provided below.
Thanks for your support!

DO YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL?
- From: upgraded
-
Description:
Well... i've been running this race for 6 months now, can't believe i've made it this far... i'm surprised in myself, it seems like yesterday when i was busy battling myself on whether i was ready to give the world up for our awesome Creator... here i am again... what can i say?
i'm dragging my feet, almost crawling... Loving Him gets tough sometimes. He's so close yet so far away. Sometimes i can literally feel His love in my heart, the next i'm asking Him where He is or if He can even hear me
Trust me, this is where i wanna be... this is where i need to be. Even when i've fallen there's something in me that won't let Him go.
I guess the thing is this relationship needs my devotion and commitment. At times i feel like going down on my knees and saying, "God, I can't. I'm in over my head with You. You're too great for me and i feel like i'm not worth it so why should i even try? I keep making the same mistakes over and over, i feel like i'm at the same place You found me. I have nothing to offer. I'm so close to giving up. I'm so close to letting go"
I've come too far to turn back now. I've given Him my heart and i don't want it back, i want Him to fix and repair it; i don't want Him to do alot with it, just touching it is enough for me.
I know He's here... somewhere, He's here.
Do you know how I feel?

Like Everyone Around Me
- From: chasinghim4ever

Description:
I ask my mom and dad for money they don't really have
to buy me clothes and shoes
to impress everyone around me .
I spend an hour each day
painting my face and smooothing my hair
to look like everyone around me .
My Bible rests on my nightstand-
no time to read or pray,
but I have time to watch the shows
and bop to the music
of everyone around me .
I went to the mailbox today
in the pile was a magazine with pictures of everything I want
and another one from a ministry
with pictures of
childrenb who have no shoes.
They wear tattered clothes
and rejoice for a bowl of rice,
but their smiles glowed with a beauty
unlike everyone around me .
It struck me:
I don't rejoice,
I want.
I am anxious, discontent, jealous, and insecure.
I let the Holy Spirit speak to me,
"Be like me:
Be like me,"
And suddenly I didn't want to be
Like eveyone around me .
I want to be like him.

Why are people not willing to
- From: GenerationMPact

Description:
My mission soon will be reaching out to Teenagers and College students, as i get older. (I'm already doing Children right now and been since i was 13) But really look at this, who will adults reach out to the most? Children
Which Age Group starts scaring adults away from us? Jr. High
Which is the time we need adults by us the most? HS/College Age.
Really if you look at it, Children and Jr. Highers get the most attation from adults in ministry, but as soon as they become High School students and even worse College students, no one seems to be reaching out to us? Why is that? Isn't that the time we need Adults the most? Isn't that the time we're trying to find out WHO we are, and WHAT we want to become? Isn't that the area adults need to come to us and reach out?and notexpecting us to come flying for them? Because sorry guys, We don't go to people we don't trust, and to get our trust You GOT to reach out!
I personily see this, Our Children and Jr. High group is growing, high school is still good, but not many adults will help our Youth Pastor out, Why? It seems the only one from our chruch (our Youth pastor) is the only one reaching out to the high school, by going on campus and spending time with them. (Thats what they need) Now my age now College students. There's nothing, no one is reaching out, yeah sunday school, but i mean really reaching out to help guide us in College. Isn't that the time when most Strong Christians fall away from God? Yes!!!!!! And what should that tell the older Adults? GEE Guys REACH OUT WHY DON'T YA?
Need an example? Here's one for ya, I'll use my High School adivor (mentor) She spent at lest 1 period with me a week, maybe 2 right? Each week also in the hallway she'll say hi or if i wanted to stop by and talk she was there. Okay there's someone who is taking time and pouring out to teenagers. Then take another teenager meeting with his/her adivsor (Mentor) they only meet once every other week or just once a month. If you put both of them together in a room with there different mentors. Which one is going to prob. have more trust towards there mentor and have the most smiles and laughs? The one who has poured more into the teenager, showing they care. So mostly likely in this occaction it would be me and my mentor.
Other example. Go to my old High School, or really any High School. Now go to the classes, The teachers who pour there heart into the teenagers in there class or most liked, and have less problems in class. Like Mrs. Larsen, she's one that you can go to her anytime, and she takes time out of her personal life to get to know you and have a personal relatationship with you, She is one of those teachers Most of the Students in the High School does repeat, and is also most liked. So take the time, it might take awhile to see the rewards of it, but it's there if you really pay attation.
The older i get the More i see what God wants me to do as an adult, and i'm getting a sence that my future husbend wants to do the same thing. God's tellin me my Mission as an adult not only to be a Counsler for children/Teenagers/College Students, but to reach out to them, to be apart of there lives, to show them someone cares, to reach out and give them a home to go to. I see more and more what i can do to make a difference in this world, when i am old enough to go forward, though sometime tells me i might need to step forward this coming year as a Freshmen in College, before i see my fellow Chiristians fall.
So let me ask you! If you work with us how do you feel about it? If you don't work with us? Why are you so scared? My age group can be mean, and worthless, but they're just wanting attaction they may not be getting at home. If they don't get it at home, they going to find someone else to get it. (Drugs, sex, violance, ect) Why not give it to them, there ways will change, but they really want to see if you really care. Think about the words of a 18, who see's what's going on in her Genuration! and who wants to change it, but is asking for help from Adults to help her catch her fellow Christians and non-believers for Christ before they fall, because they had no one to go to.
I do want to thank the one's who do pour there lives into the High School age, and college age. You have earned my repect because your one of the few who are out there for my age group. So thank you very much. Though not many people will say thank you well you do it, just trust me they'll thankful. Keep reaching out to them, and to us, and when you connect with a teenager very well, keep being there friend, so show you really did care about them, and it wasn't just a job. We want friends, who care! not someone who just wants to get there job done with.

How to spot a Christian
- From: chasinggzus

Description:
How to spot a Christian
study notes from last night at Fusion
1. Just because we may do something on the outside that a Christian would be considered doing doesn’t really mean that we are.
· If I go to church does that make me a Christian? Nope, just because a mouse gets inside a cookie jar it doesn’t make it a cookie does it?
· Maybe if I carry around a big Bible I’m a Christian? If you tote around something that is meaningless to you what’s the point.
· Maybe if I wear a Christian t-shirt then I’ll be one. Wearing a shirt with Jesus on it or some church doesn’t automatically make you holy.
· The one we hear the most, if I believe in God then I must be a Christian. NO! Just because you believe in “God” makes you no more a Christian then the very demons.
James 2:19 Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God , but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That's just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them ?
3. Teens, as we can see doing none of this outwardly stuff makes us a Christian.
(A). They will recognize you as a Christian by your relationship with Christ.
Mar 14:66 While Peter was still in the courtyard, a servant girl of the high priest came up 67 and saw Peter warming himself by the fire. She stared at him and said, " You were with Jesus from Nazareth !" 68 Peter replied, "That isn't true! I don't know what you're talking about. I don't have any idea what you mean." He went out to the gate, and a rooster crowed.
Guys, there is a huge difference between just believing in God and having a deep faith rooted in God. Teens, during the summer when you spend time outside in the sun people can see it. The sun leaves physical evidence on you that people can see. Guys when you spend time in the presence of the sun of God Jesus Christ you will see, and most definitely people will see it as well.
(B). They will recognize you as a Christian by the people you spend time with.
Mark 14:69 The servant girl saw Peter again and said to the people standing there, " This man is one of them !" 70 "No, I'm not!" Peter replied.
This is a saying I want you guys to always remember, “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your destiny.” The people that you spend most of your time with will help shape and determine your future. Teens you want that light in you to always stay bright as a light house, stay close and connected to Church and fellow believers. You really do have no idea how essential fellowship is.
(C). They will recognize you as a Christian by your speech.
Mark 14:70 A little while later some of the people said to Peter, "You certainly are one of them. You're a Galilean!" 71 This time Peter began to curse and swear, "I don't even know the man you're talking about!"
Any of you guys ever heard you need to talk the talk and walk the walk? Well as important as living a blameless life in front of our unbelieving friends is it’s equally important to talk the talk.

Are you a watchmen?
- From: AfterGodsHeart
-
Description:
‘Sup skillets. I’ve got a news flash for ya’ll. I know it’s long, but it’s about your calling, so skim it and see if you’re a watchman.
Now, all of you know me, and I’m very fun and light-spirited and I love the bridal paradigm between God and his church (Isaiah 54:5 and all of SOS), but every once and a while I end up in the Psalm 104:4 reality and now here I am. Both realities are the church: the warrior bride, but let me be a warrior for just a moment:
Joel 2:2: “Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come.” The whole book of Joel is a complete story, end to end, of this generation and our children after us. So if you wanna know what the world will look like in 30 years, the book of Joel is your answer. Joel 2 talks about the church in this generation, and this is his opening line to his description of our generation, and the events therein.
Isaiah 42:13: “The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” Isaiah had a vision tucked away in verses 10-17 about a generation thousands of years in the distance. Most of Isaiah 43 is about Christ in AD 30, but there was no way Isaiah would ever write about the first coming of Christ without hinting a measure at His second coming (hence this snippet). How do we know this references the second coming? Answer: Isaiah 62 and Revelation 19-22. How do we know this hints at our generation? Answer: our nearness in current events to the completion of all the prophecies concerning the Day of the Lord (and Joel 2… and the prayer and worship revolution). You’ll read these passages and feel something tugging you just a little. Let me explain:
Jeremiah 4:19: “Oh, my anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain. Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds within me, I cannot keep silent. For I have heard the sound of the trumpet; I have heard the battle cry.” Jeremiah had many of the same snippets that Isaiah had, and he, too, wrote concerning the second coming of Christ and about THIS time in history concerning current events. This verse perfectly captures the tugging (or even yanking) that happens to those who God is calling to be watchmen. Isaiah and Jeremiah and Ezekiel (and Jesus and Paul and Timothy and the Disciples and Martin Luther and Zinzendorf) were all watchmen for the Lord, and the Lord is calling forth watchmen for this generation:
Isaiah 62:1-7: “For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent… 6 I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” Here are the watchmen. How do we know this is about this generation? Psalm 132:3-5, David makes a vow to the Lord while he started a worship and pray revolution that has carried to this day: “I will not enter my house or go to my bed- I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." When David said that, God raised him up to be a watchman, and David himself prophesied about the second coming of Christ (Psalm 2, etc.). David built a house of prayer and staffed it with 5,000 musicians and singers who did Isaiah 62:6-7 day and night, 24-7. Every once and a while, that calling returns, and it did so throughout the kings of Israel. Then the Moravians answered the call to night and day prayer, and Zinzendorf led a prayer revolution. Thousands of years later, that same call has erupted all over the earth today. Unknowingly, in 1999, several different parties received a calling on different sides of the earth, and they all made the vow in the same month and started a 24-7 house of prayer according to David’s vow. Since then, 24-7 prayer has been igniting revivals all over the earth, and you and I are currently witnessing the greatest breakthrough in missions work EVER! All of this coincides with God’s building watchmen all over the earth.
Now, I’m not calling for a 24-7 house of prayer in Olathe, but I am searching out the watchmen. There are already houses of 24-7 prayer all over the earth, multiple in all 50 states, so I’m not looking for a 24-7 house of prayer in Olathe, but I know the watchmen are here. You look at this generation and you see something different that you can’t explain. You hear the word “revolution” and you heart skips a beat, and you believe that this generation will see a huge shift in how Christians live. You may have even heard about it from the Lord, or seen it in a vision. You’re willing to die for the Word of the Lord because it has consumed you, and you’re ready to see the church unite and become the bride she was called to be in this generation. Guess what! You’re a watchman! And you’re definitely not alone! Adults and teenagers all over the earth and discovering an outpouring of the Spirit of God over this generation, and watchmen and being set up all over the earth!
What the heck is a watchman?! A watchman is straight up crazy. Not really, but if you ask the world, we’re straight up crazy (1 Corinthians 1:25)!
1) Watchmen are prayer warriors. We pray from sun-up to sun-down, and even then we love praying at 3 AM in the sweetness of God’s heart in the morning. We intercede for just about everything, meaning we stand in the gap and add our prayers to the incense rising to the thrown in Revelation 4-5. We pray with boldness for our schools, and for our peers, and our jobs, and our churches, and for the random waitress at Applebee’s, and for the dude that just flipped us off in traffic. We pray like Jesus is coming! Ha ha ha!
2) Watchmen are lovesick worshipers of Jesus. The church is the bride of Christ, and watchmen set the example for extravagant longing for the heart of God. We do the Psalm 27:4 thing “one thing I seek, to dwell in the house of the Lord and gaze upon his beauty, etc.” We are the “greet one another with a heavenly kiss” people, and dramatically in love with Jesus.
3) We are the “Hey I quit my job so I could be a watchman” people. Plain and simple. Being a watchman is a job, and David paid for 5,000 singers and musicians to serve as watchmen in his house of prayer. So, do not quit your job today (unless you read that statement and heard the voice of God say “quit now.”), because you can be a watchman and still work (be a watchman at work), but as time progresses, and you become more and more consumed, you’ll discover that your calling is way far away from McDonalds and is more geared towards carrying crosses around the world (kind of thing). Do you want to know what Ezekiel’s job was?
Ezekiel 33:7-9 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.”
And from that point on, Ezekiel was a living dead guy (Galatians 2:20), and he started to see things like Ezekiel 37 (Ezekiel 37 spawned the current 24-7 prayer movement in Europe with “you see dry bones, but I see an army”), which is directly tied to you and me. Which leads me to my next point:4) Watchmen are messengers. Watchmen aren’t always Ezekiel kind of messengers, but they are messengers. Watchmen don’t always hear the audible voice of the Lord, but many of them do, and perhaps you have. What does this mean? In reality, you get attacked a lot more. No one listens to you, you struggle lots with porn and lust, and you struggle with your thought life, and you struggle with your reputation or appearance, just to name a few. Why? Because Satan doesn’t want anyone to hear the word of the Lord through you, he wants to destroy your eyes so you can’t see the Lord, he wants to corrupt your thoughts so you can’t connect with God, and he wants you to look like a fool so you won’t be taken seriously. But you hear God, and what he was to say for this generation, and you say it, some of you with a “Thus says the Lord” attitude and some of you with a “the Lord has been highlighting this…”
Why would Satan sacrifice 40,000,000+ unborn babies to heaven through abortion, just in the U.S.? If you really think about it, such destruction among infants has only happened three times in history: Moses, Jesus, and now. Moses: the Jews were overpopulating Egypt, and Pharaoh was scared so he killed off a bunch of babies. Jesus: Herod was scared of an old prophesy about the Jew’s Messiah supposedly taking his thrown, so he killed a bunch of Jewish infants. Both of those times, God was sending a great deliverer to his people, Moses and Jesus, and Satan tried to kill the deliverer early on. So what about today? Now: Satan is scared out of his pants because this generation is going to witness the ultimate deliverer’s second coming, Jesus Christ, and Satan’s ultimate destruction, and he wants to thin our ranks. Satan doesn’t want watchmen on the walls that pray his demons out of schools, or that worship God day and night, or that pray for Jesus to come back. Satan doesn’t want generals in the Lord’s army to lead revolutions on earth that lead to his downfall. Satan would rather see billions of babies worldwide go to heaven than see then enter earth, because we are his last generation, and he knows it.
So I’m looking for more the watchmen in Olathe. Who hears the voice of the Lord for this generation? Who sees what’s happening in this generation? Who feels that tugging on your heart? You may have never heard of this stuff before, but you feel the tugging anyway, and that’s perfect too. You may hate the term “watchmen,” and you’d rather say ‘revolutionary’ or ‘Gideon’ or ‘Jesus Freak’ or whatever; doesn’t matter.
And not everyone is a watchman… well I take that back, sort of. There are different watchmen, such as prophetic watchmen, intercessory watchmen, healing watchmen, demon-killing watchmen, song-writing watchmen, tongues-speaking watchmen, etc. You’ll find that a lot of these dimensions overlap.
What I’m really looking for is an intense prayer network. If all of the watchmen find each other in Olathe and start praying together and calling each other with prayer requests and speaking the word of the Lord together, Satan will get really pissed! Demons will get driven out of our schools if the watchmen rise up and say “HEY! God is bigger than these lies and I’m speaking and praying for truth!” So I’m looking for other watchmen who know they are going to be set on the wall as intercessors and warriors (and brides) of Christ. Alright watchmen (or whatever you are), let’s come together and start discovering who we really are…

How I became a Christian
- From: Freak4God07
-
Description:It was on October 28, 2004. 9pm in the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton. Ron Luce was talking about how we need to reach out and share our battle cry with others. We needed to let others know about Jesus Christ and show them the way. Well, being a Pastors Kid, everyone thought I was a Christian. Well, I kind of was. I was SUPPOSED to be, you know? But really, inside I wasn’t that Christian. I had been yearning for that adventure. Now, I am known for taking risks, so I took this one. That night, when Ron Luce called the kids up who wanted to know Christ, I was one of them. But, I didn’t go up. I stayed in my seat and cried. I cried my heart out and prayed the prayer. That was an amazing night. Just think of this. If my favourite band Skillet wasn’t there, I wouldn’t be there. And if I wasn’t there.... then... I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. Thanks ATF!

hypocrites in the church...
- From: babyluvWWJD

Description:
have you ever noticed how so many of those who call themselves christians are hypocritical? where in church they will lift up there hands and praise God but the moment they walk out those doors they lie, they steal, they deceive, they sin in many ways.(ex.committing adultery) some thing i have realized is itdoesn't only matterhow you act in church because that is not where you are reflecting God's love to those in need of God the most... it is when you are walking into the grocery store, when you are at work or school... i am not saying it is an easy task i know what you are thinking... " what if they look at me weird for spreading God's word... or what will they say about me?" well i have one thing to tell you... WHO FREAKING CARES!!!!
do you think jesus cared about what those around him thought? do you think that what they said about him influenced him enough to not do it...
just think about how many chances you have had in the past to possibly change someones life and turn their life aroundbut didn'tbc you were afraid to go and talk to them...
scary thought isn't it? what mask is it that you wear? think to yourself.. are you a hypocrite? i know that at times i am...
i screw up some times... i make mistakes... FYI we are human we aren't expected to be perfect... but we should always strive for perfection... strive to be just like jesus...as we strive for this we will better ourselves from the inside out....
so i ask this of you... if you are reading this search your heart and find who you are in christ...
never give up...

Description:I was born with cerebral palsy the Doctors told my parents I’d never walk or talk but the bible says:
Philippians 4: 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I was legally blind I had 20/ 200 vision and didn’t know my own mom from 4 feet away but God’s word says
Isaiah 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
I was deaf and God opened my Ears
Isaiah 42:18 Hear, you deaf! And look, you blind, that you may see.
Hear, you deaf! And look, you blind, that you may see.
My hands were all curled up in tight fists and God said in his word
Psalm 146:8 The LORD opens {the eyes of} the blind; The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous;
The LORD opens {the eyes of} the blind; The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous;
When the Doctors said I’d never talk because I had an incurable speech problem God said in His word:
Luke 1:64 And at once his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he began to speak in praise of God.
And at once his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he began to speak in praise of God.
The Doctors told my mom I could not learn but Gods Word said I could be smart:
1 Corinthians 2:16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.
I have been so blessed to grow up in a Christian home but more important than that, I am so blessed to know Jesus Christ.
So many people think it is awesome, that God did all these things for me but I think his dying on the Cross was much more important.
When I was really little about 3 years old I prayed a sinner’s prayer and asked Jesus to come into my life. But I still acted like a sinner.
Then one day I turned away from my selfish ways, and asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life. Not just my savior, but my best friend that was the day I committed my life to Jesus. Now Life is goood

Psalm 146:8 The LORD opens {the eyes of} the blind; The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous;
The LORD opens {the eyes of} the blind; The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous;
Now Life is goood - Blog post

The Difference.........

Description:
THE DIFFERENCE.....
I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn't have the to pray.
Problems just trumbled about me
and heavier came each task.
"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered
He answered. "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty.
But the day toiled on. Gray and bleak:
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said, "But you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence:
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided.
"My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning
and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accompish
that I had to take time to pray.

A Poem for You #3
- From: Autumn
-
Description:
There’s a place in your heart,
When your blind and can not see.
You cant find in your heart, words to set you free.
But when your down
And feeling so sad,
And you need the strength to carry on.
You might get lonely sometimes.
But there’s only one to call on.
He can help you through anything.
He’s there for you no matter what.
No matter where you are
Or what time it is, he is there.
He is the one who gives you breath .
The one who loves you most.
The reason we go on living.
If he weren’t here
There’d be no tomorrow.
He is night and day.
He is death and life,
Laughter and sorrow, he is all things
He is God.

Warisn't necessarily a good thingbut it has too be done. Although people tend to think it is bad thats because thars all theyv'e heard is the negative and its all the news reports. One thing is that you cant have peace without having a war first. I personally like the peace but it seems to never last.

Our Battle

Description:
We see this world crumbling, changing befor our eyes, and so sinfull. So many of us what to change it but very little has happened. Are some of us just afraid to put our foot through the dore? Do we think it's to big of a job to change world? Are we afraid? What is holding us back? Many people don't know that just in our American country....
-1 in every 4 teens use drugs that are ilegal.
- 8,000 contract an STD every day. That's 6 in the next minute.
-1 million teenage girls are pregnant right now in America.
-340,000 teens get an abotion every year.
-1 in 10 have been raped.
-40% have infliced self injury.
-1 in 5 have contemplated suicide.
-Over 1,500 teens kill themselves every year.
-Suicide is the third leading cause of death amoung people ages 15-24 in America.
-9 out of 10 have seen porn online.
-7 out 10 men are addicted to porn.
-The porn industry is bigger than NFL, NHL, NBA, and the NBL combined.
- you will see 14,00 sexual references on TV this year.
See what our world has come to. See what our generation has become and what they are doing. These are our friends, our family, and people we see and asosate with every day. We don't have to settle for this. We don't have to sit back and watch this get worse. Our world has become a sinful and horrible place....
In 1940 teachers were asked to identify problems in schools, talking out of turn, chewing gum, making noise.... In 1990 teachers were asked the same qestions. These were their ansewers, drugs and alcohal abuse, pregnacy, suicide, rape, robbery, assault.. That was 1990. It's now 18 years later. See what our world has become. We still have a chance to save our generation.
Therefore, since we are surrounded buy such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that is so easile entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (Hebrews 12:1)
Join me inthe battle to fight for our generation. God has a big plan for us. Let him use you. If you are afraid....... "Each of us may be sure that if God sends us over rocky paths, He will provide us with sturdy shoes. He will never send us on any journey with out equipping us well. (Alexander Maclaren) If we band together we can change the world, it would also be easier than trying to change the world just by our self. What are we waiting for?
This is part of a speech I did at my school. I used all the facts and stuff... but unfortuneatly I had to take out the God stuff. But I made my point and made it clear I was a Christian to my class mates with out even saying God one time. After my speech people came and asked me questions about it and I totaly gave God all the credit. My poster got hung up in the speech room for every one to see and a month later my speech got published in the school news paper. PRAIS GOD!!! What are we waiting for? Raise your voice and and band together! We can do it!

God's providence.
- From: Shatterpoint

Description:
I thought I'd share this. I wrote this November 24th, 2006.
This year has been insane. Seriously. There's been a ton of really crappy stuff, but then there's been the incredibly awesome things too. So much has happened this year... from our van having a break down in the middle of Pennsyvania on New Years Day ( not fun... trust me) to random annoyances and issues with family and friends, and meeting some amazing bands, including my favorite band in the world, and being blessed by their music and their example.
I'm still waiting for my grandmother to come home... she was in the hospital for a few weeks or a month or something and now she's in a nursing home ( which I dislike going to because it reeks sometimes and she has a roomate now, so it's kinda awkward visiting). Of course I do want to visit her, it's just ... uncomfortable and actually, visiting her at the hospital was a lot more comfortable and it smelled better... lol. I just hope she can be home by Christmas at least, even if she still has that dumb feeding tube in still.
And Kerri... you don't realize how much you love your family or friends until they're in danger... I mean, she still annoys me sometimes and drives me crazy, but she's still my sister and I love her, despite the factone of her and mom's favorite hobbies is annoying me and embarrassing me ( though they don't do it in public much... thank GOD). Anyway, I'm just really glad she's home and has the IV thing out, I mean, I couldn't even visit her without like, having her come down a floor to meet me, so we didn't even try it and being home alone at night sucks, lol, seriously, it's boring and every little noise scares me. I don't blame my mom for leaving me at night, it was that or not visit Kerri really and she needed her and I obviously lived... lol. I guess I just don't like being left alone for a really long time, though I enjoy privacy.
And for the record... my mom is awesome! She drives me crazy sometimes, and is weird at times, but I am too... I take after her a lot, in good ways and bad. I love watching movies with her and all, and tv... especially Hannah Montana! It's fun bonding over funny stuff like that. Also, she likes a lot of the same music as me, from the screamy, heavy stuff, to more worshipful, quiet music and even takes me to see my crazy, heavy bands and hangs around after to let me and Kerri, and even my friends meet them. I mean, how often is it you can say your mother will stay after a christian hard rock concert with you after 11 PM so you can get the autographs of some of your favorite bands, even if she's tired and sore? And she tends to attempt to take pics... which sometimes turn out AMAZING!
All in all, my mom rocks and I'm really glad I have her, even with her quirks.
And I've gotten closer to some of my friends... some of them are more like family really, we're together so often. But others I still don't know too well and I want to... guess that's one thing I'll work on in the next year.
I think one thing God has changed in me this last year is I'm a lot more aware of some things, and I'm more thankful for what I have, and in some cases, what I don't. My life isn't perfect, course not, but it's not always as bad as it seems sometimes. And I know that no matter how good my life gets there's always gonna be hard days where it seems like almost nothing is going the way I want and I just want to make it all go away. But if it wasn't for the bad times I know I wouldn't appreciate the good times nearly as much. It sounds so cliche, but it's really true. If a lot of this year hadn't been so... ugh, I might not appreciate some of the small good things, like just going to a church outing and having fun with my friends, or going to see a band I like in concert.
Even if things are horrible sometimes, I know I'm blessed. God has given me more than I deserve, even if I don't always see it. Sometimes it takes a lot of crap to see the good things God does for you. And I definitely know for a fact that no matter what, He'll bring you through anything. You may feel like you're breaking and you're not gonna make it, but you will. I think God's made me lean on him a lot more this year, between a friend dying, to both my sister and my grandmother being in the hospital and in fairly serious medical danger. It was scary, but just having God to lean on was an incredible comfort, I knew I didn't have to carry the burden myself. I never want to lean on myself again... it's so much better relying on God. Even if you don't feel him, just being reassured he loves you and will take care of you, forever, is enough. Sometimes you'll feel Him, sometimes you won't. Sometimes I think you'll just see Him through the little things, like a friend simply caring, even if it's just saying something or giving you a hug, it can mean a lot.
I'm not a perfect christian, not at all, but I'm trying to do my best. Somedays I just don't get around to reading my Bible, but I'm trying to do better with it, and to get more out of it when I do read.
And christian music... that helps me so much. Sometimes God just uses a song, or part of a song to point something out to me or comfort me. And sometimes I just a get a nudge that I know is from God and the Holy Spirit totally randomly. I mean, Pastor Rhonda can be preaching and something she says will strike me in a funny way and stick out, and I know it's not from me. Or I'll just be reading an interview on a band I like and something will stick out and I feel like I've just been flicked on the head.
Honestly, I find that kind of God stuff pretty amusing at times because it's so random, but such perfect timing, and it definitely shows me God is real.
Recently I went to DC and walked my butt off... and was incredibly sore. We walked all day n I'm not really atheletic, so of course my legs and all were killing me. At some points I felt like I couldn't walk much farther and I was just gonna pass out or something, lol, and then, ever so randomly, I'm listening to my MP3, trudging very slowly towards the train station to get food and get home, and I'm listening to the new Disciple cd, Scars Remain, and the songDive comes on and I heard these lines that struck me...
" I'll run and not grow weak
Walk and will not faint"
If you need any proof that God can use hard rock/ metal, there it is right there.
After I heard that I looked up, laughed, and realized I would make it to the station somehow, even if I felt like my legs were made of lead.
And by the way, the whole song goes like this...
Dive - Disciple
" Sometimes, it gets hard upon this beaten road
Sometimes, I am tempted just to walk alone
But I hear Your words out of my mouth
Wanting, expecting that
The seeds that I've sown this time
I'll reap in a short while
I'll run and not grow weak
Walk and will not faint
Climb the highest mountain to dive off
And I'll fly high on
I'll fly high on broken wings
All I desire is everything that You are
Strength is renewed as I wait on You, God "Isn't God just hilarious sometimes?
Alright, I guess I'll stop my rambling now but just remember, no matter what, God's gonna be there for you, even if it doesn't seem like it. You may be going through some of the most messed up things in your life so far, but God's gonna use it somehow and if you let Him, He'll make you stronger through the pain.
After all, don't diamonds become beautiful after they've been under extreme pressure?
1 Peter 4:12-16 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
* Note * My grandmother died March 22nd of this year, and we've been through some hard times since then, but I'm still trusting God to get us out of this & take care of us & make us better for it.
